Product Description
ESEE 4P
The ESEE Model 4 was designed by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin as an all-around Tactical, Survival and Bushcraft Knife. Simply put, the performance, durability and quality of the ESEE-4 is unmatched by any other knife in its category. It has been put to the test many times by military, law enforcement and adventurers all over the world, whether in the Randalls Adventure & Training jungle survival school, carried by special operations personnel in combat, or strapped to a hikers backpack. If youre an outdoorsman, law enforcement, soldier, or just simply like to collect quality, hard-use knives, then you can't go wrong with an ESEE-4. Buying a good knife is not just about the product you purchase but the experience and people standing behind it. The ESEE-4 is backed with a NO QUESTIONS ASKED PROMISE.
Care/Maintenance: ESEE carbon steel knives are made from 1095 steel. 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for – especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.
- Experience the toughness of the field tested ESEE 4P, a fixed blade knife designed for real survival scenarios. Made from 1095 carbon steel, it’s a reliable partner in the harshest conditions, making it a top choice for a survival knife.
- With an overall length of 9” (22.86cm) and a cutting-edge length of 4” (10.14cm), the ESEE 4P is a reliable choice for outdoor adventures.
- Durability – Handle material is comprised of Gray Linen Micarta
- Whether you’re hunting or camping, the ESEE 4P is the perfect companion. Weighing in at approximately 8.0 oz, the ESEE 4P is lightweight enough for any endeavor.
- The Drop Point blade type allows for extra control when cutting or carving. Made in the USA.

Overall, I would recommend this knife to my bestest friend. Not the most ergonomic knife, not cheap, but great quality steel that you will not be able to break/chip even if you try.
After 4 months of heavy use in poor conditions I would say this knife was pretty good. I’m honestly impressed with how well the metal blade holds up. Sometimes you get bored and throw it at rocks- er, cut…stuff. Even after all of that I have never chipped the blade, but I have sharpened it a lot to maintain the edge. From when it was new, the blade has lost 1/8 inch in length and width due to it being sharpened so much. The first picture is, believe it or not, two identical knives. One is brand new and the other is…slightly used. I’ll let you pick which is which. But anyway I liked it so much I bought another one if that says anything. The only gripe I have with this knife is the handle. Good lord the handle….feels like I’m holding a Minecraft block. If you buy this knife, which I highly recommend, buy the version with a rounded handle. Your wallet with not be happy but your hand will thank you. Also, while the black coating won’t come off for anyone, any exposed steel will rust very easily as does high carbon steel. Just be prepared to service it often. The rust on it in the picture is from sitting in my dry backpack for a month. It’s just surface rust though. The sheath does have a drain hole at the bottom so water won’t pool on the blade while you’re wearing it on your belt.

I actually like the black finish. Some purists strip it off. I don't see the point as I like it being non-reflective. I chose the serrated blade, too, as I think it makes it more versatile for multiple cutting tasks.
The sheath works great in the rear scout position with two small zip ties attached to my thick leather gun belt. Forget the clip attachment -- it won't sit horizontally and doesn't sit tight on the belt. [Bonus: carrying concealed in the rear scout carry position prevents nervous Karens from freaking out.]
Overall excellent blade and sheath. I would have no reservations buying again and again. But I wont need to. The warranty is unconditional. No receipt or propf of purchase necessary. BUY IT.

I love how sturdy the American Steel. I chose neon orange color in case he dropped it while treading through the woods. ( it may have already happened a time or two… maybe three)
